It’s almost X-mas and we don’t care. We’re open Wednesay 23^rd of December from 18:00 to 22:00. Come, we don’t expect presents, nor we will give you any. No trees, no cake smell. So, if you are bored or you are feeling lonely, come and read/hang with us in the basement library.

E aproape Craciun si noua nu ne pasa. Suntem deschisi miercuri, 23 Decembrie de la 18:00 la 22:00. Haideti, nu ne asteptam la cadouri si nici nu va dam nici unul. Nici copaci, nici miros de prajituri. Deci, daca va plictisiti sau va simtiti singuri, haideti cititi/stati cu noi in libraria din beci.

Hey hey! This week, there will be a first of, hopefully, a series of social events this Friday and the library will be open on Wednesday!  So here it goes:

RIZOM INFOKIOSK OPEN: WEDNESDAY, 9TH OF DECEMBER, H18:00-22:00
DIY NIGHTS:  “PUNK FOOTBALL” & AFTERPARTY

We will explore the subversive potential of football.(with beer (with and without alcohol), cracking seeds, music and a good documentary).
Starts at 20:00 and the ENTRANCE IS FREE!

Yo! Schimbare de planuri! Deoarece prietenii nostri organizeaza duminica asta “Kantin” in spatiul Ⓐcasa de la ora 12, ne-am hotarat sa mergem cu niste zine acolo. Deci, Infokiosk-ul Rizom va fi inchis, dar ne vedem la Ⓐcasa!

Hey hey, we are happy to announce that starting from today the Infokiosk has a heater! Come, read, enjoy hot tea/coffee and warmth of our hearts and heaters!
We’re open today, 2nd of December from 18:00 to 22:00. And next time Sunday, 6th of December from 12:00 to 16:00.

Hey hey, suntem bucuroşi să anunţăm că începând de azi, Infokiosk-ul are un sistem de încălzire! Haideţi, citiţi, serviţi ceai sau cafea fierbinte, şi bucuraţi-vă de căldura din inimile şi radiatoarele noastre!
Va fi deschis azi, 2 Decembrie de la 18:00 la 22:00 şi Duminică, 6 Decembrie de la 12:00 la 16:00.

Deschiderea a fost frumoasă, au apărut destul de mulţi oameni, concertul a fost distractiv şi mâncarea a fost delicioasă, mulţumită bucătarilor! Încă experimentăm cu orarul, aşadar va fi deschis în următoarele date:

Vineri, 27 Noiembrie 18h00-22h00

Miercuri, 2 Decembrie 18h-22h00

Duminică, 6 Decembrie 12h00-16h00

Tot nu avem încălzire încă, deci spaţiul este destul de rece! Cu puţin noroc o să avem în curând, dar în caz că nu, poate vă puteţi aduce voi păturici. Plănuim de asemenea să avem un fierbător pentru ceai şi cafea. Deeeci, ne vedem? Ah, avem şi nişte zine noi în engleză şi am primit mai multe zine în română!

The opening was nice, quite some people showed up, the gig was awesome and food was good, thanks to the cooks! We are still experimenting with the schedule, so we will be open on these dates:

We still don’t have a heater so the space is pretty cold! Luckily we will have one, but in case not, maybe you can bring a blanket. We also plan to have a kettle and some tea and coffee. Sooooo, see you soon? Oh yeah, we will have some new zines in English, and we received more zines in Romanian!

About Rizom//Despre Rizom
[EN]    In this world where so much things revolt us like capitalism, domination patterns, discrimination, ecological disaster and so on, we think it’s important to cultivate this anger by deepening our knowledge, finding informations, creating better arguments in order to have a better understanding and be able to fight those thing that revolt us in a more efficient manner.

Rizom infokiosk is a kind of self-organized alternative library. We’re completely independent, so everything you’ll find here, is because we find it relevant or necessary to share, to spread around us. We gather here, books, zines, paper in order to create a bank of information accessible to everybody.

We are interested in different subject such as anarchy, feminism, subversive theories, anti-oppression struggles, punk music, ecology, anti-discrimination… We also strongly believe in D.I.Y culture and think learning skills is the way towards emancipation so all kinds of guides will be available from how to repair your bike, make a delicious vegan lemon pie, to self-care and how to turn you’re computer into a fortress.

We feel the need to multiply the spaces where consumption and profit doesn’t matter but where learning, sharing, discussing, creating are what really matters. So we try to make Rizom a place where you can come to read, to discover new ideas and theories, to meet new people, to share your’re thoughts about a subject. Discussions as well as movie projections will be organized.

We share the space with LMA collective. A anarchist collective that organize hardcore punk shows and diffuses ideas about veganism and animal liberation.

Rizom has no expectations or desire to make money, but we still have some costs. Running costs, printing costs and we also want to acquire new books and zines overtime and for that we need donation. More than money, a good subversive book or some zines will make us happy! Don’t feel the need to donate, but if you do, know that everything is going to the project.
[RO]   Într-o lume în care o mulţime de lucruri ne revoltă, spre exemplu capitalismul, structurile de dominare, discriminarea, dezastrele ecologice şi asa mai departe, considerăm că este important să ne cultivăm furia prin aprofundarea cunoştiinţelor, găsind informaţii, formând argumente mai bune în ideea de a dobîndi o înţelegere mai bună despre lucrurile care ne revoltează şi pentru a putea să luptăm împotriva lor într-un mod mai eficient.

Rizom infokiosk este o bibliotecă alternativă auto-organizată. Suntem complet independenţi, deci orice veţi găsi aici există deoarece ni-i s-au părut relevante sau bune de împărtăşit. Am adunat aici cărţi, zine, ziare în ideea de a crea o banca de informaţie accesibilă tuturor.

Suntem interesaţi de diferite subiecte cum ar fi anarhism, feminism, teorii subversive, lupte anti-opresiune, punk, ecologie, anti-discirminare… De asemenea credem cu pasiune în cultura DIY şi considerăm că acumularea de îndeletniciri este un mod de emancipare, deci, în bibliotecă se pot găsi diferite manuale de la cum să îţi repari bicicleta, cum să găteşti o plăcintă vegană cu lămîie, la grija de sine sau cum să îţi transformi computerul într-o fortăreaţă.

Simţim nevoia să crească numărul spaţiilor unde consumul şi profitul îşi pierd importanţa în favoarea educaţiei, cooperări, discuţiilor, creeări. Încercăm să facem din Rizom un loc un poţi veni să citeşti, să descoperi idei şi teorii noi, să cunoşti oameni noi şi să-ţi împărtăşeşti gândurile. Vom organiza de asemenea discuţii şi proiecţii de film.

Împărţim spaţiul cu collectivul LMA, un grup anarhist care promovează cultura hardcore punk DIY, precum şi idealuri precum eliberarea animaleleor şi veganismul.

Nu vrem ca Rizom să fie o sursă de profit, dar avem în acelaşi timp unele costuri: mentenanţa spaţiului costă, printatul de zine costă, precum şi achiziţionarea de cărţi şi zine noi costă. Din acest motiv, donaţiile sunt binevenite, fie că e vorba de bani sau, mai bine, de o carte sau un zine subversiv! Donaţiile nu sunt obligatorii, dar dacă simţi această nevoie, să fi sigur că ea va merge către dezvoltarea proiectului.
